United States of America

The United States has been a wine producing country for over three centuries now. However, it was only since the late 1970s that the world became aware of just how good American wine can be. A major reason why the American wine industry took so long to make an impact was the enforcement of Prohibition. After Prohibition was repealed, it was discovered that the American wine producing sector had suffered a massive setback. The Art of Decanting

Most of the people do not use decanters and those who do assume that any wine which is old needs to be decanted. Decanters played an important part for the serving of wine. These vessels once filled will make it easy for serving and allows you to enjoy the best wine making it even better. Other alcoholic beverages like single malt Scotch whisky or cognac are also served in Decanters. One of the best reasons for decanting is, it allows the wine to breathe and thereby improves the taste of wine. Decanters tend to imitate the process of swirling the wine glass and stimulate the movement of the molecules. These molecules when triggered releases the aroma compounds and makes the wine smoother by reducing the harsher aspects like tannins or mercaptans. Some experts believe that decanting is appropriate for certain types of wines like Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Port as they are more tannic in taste. On the other side, wines like Pinot Noir or Chianti which are more delicate should not be decanted as it may be harmful and cause side-effects.
