Make Peanut Butter Sandwiches Fun
Our daughter loves peanut butter sandwiches, especially with mom's homemade blueberry jam. But after a while, even our daughter tires of the same old sandwich in her school lunch box daily. So one day we introduced a twist...
After making up her daily sandwich (by her choice), we pull out a simple large cookie cutter and press out the cookie shape. We often user her favorite big heart cookie cutter shape. During the Christmas season we frequently use the large Christmas tree cookie cutter. Yes the sandwich tastes the same, but she really enjoys them and talks about how her friends think it is so cool (kindergarteners!)
Yes there is a slight waste factor. But as the maker of the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I ensure that the outer cuttings do not go to waste (yum!). We have several shapes -- star, heart, Santa, Christmas tree, etc -- so we never are at a lack of shapes. Give it a try! I think you will appreciate the wow factor.
