Halloween Party Mix Recipe

I like mixing this up for the kids at Halloween time. It is just a little different than a regular party mix, a nice change for all.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (11 ounces) pretzels
  • 1/2 C light corn syrup
  • 1 package (10 1/2 ounces) mini Peanut butter filled crackers
  • 2 T vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 package M&M’s
  • 1/2 C butter or margarine
  • 1 package (18 1/2 ounces) candy corn

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine pretzels, crackers and peanuts
  2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, butter and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and baking soda (mixture will foam)
  3. Pour over pretzel mixture and stir until coated.
  4. Pour into greased 15 x 10 x 1 in. baking pan. Bake at 250 F. for 45 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
  5. Break apart while warm. Toss with M&M’s and candy corn
  6. Cool completely and store in airtight container. Makes approximately 16 cups
