Creamed Chicken on Toast Recipe

Wow... a simple creamed chicken recipe submitted by a user. Must try it with the cayenne pepper to satisfy my need for heat.

Ingredients

  • 1 lg can chicken in water
  • 3 T butter
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in sauce pan and add flour to make a roux. Cook for just a minute to take away the flour taste. Add milk and wisk until smooth. Boil over medium heat until the mixture thickens. If it is too thick add a little more milk. Stir in can of chicken add salt and pepper and cayenne if desired. Cook just until the chicken is warmed. Serve over toast chunks.
