Savory Stuffed Pork Chops Recipe

A nice family recipe and a great way to dress up your pork chops. Simple and tasty!

Ingredients

  • 4 ( 1 1/2 inch thick) pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 teaspoon each dried sage, salt & pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable broth or water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Trim fat from chops. Cut a 2 inch pocket in each pork chop, set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms, saute until tender. Remove from heat. Stir in sage, salt, pepper and bread crumbs.
  3. Add enough broth to moisten and hold stuffing together. Spoon stuffing into pockets.
  4. Secure pockets with kitchen twine or toothpicks, place chops in a baking dish. Add remaining broth. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Remove cover, bake for 20 minutes or until tender.
