Sweet Potato Casserole Recipe

You can use either sweet potatoes or yams for this recipe. We have used this casserole as a standard side dish for our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for a while now.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (40 ounces each) cut yams or sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows

Directions

  1. In large saucepan, heat yams until thoroughly warmed.
  2. Drain, then mash yams until creamy.
  3. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Place yam mixture in a 9x13 casserole dish and top with marshmallows.
  5. Bake in 325F oven for approximately 20 minutes or until marshmallows brown slightly.
