Cocktail Hamburgers Recipe

Your guests will get a kick out of these mini hamburgers, but they will definitely eat them up!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds lean ground chuck
  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated onion
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sage

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients, and mix with hands, but don't be heavy-handed. Using the palm of the hand, shape into balls the size of walnuts and flatten out. Broil on both sides.
  2. Sauce
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
    2 cups catsup
    2 teaspoons nutmeg
    3 tablespoons dry mustard
  3. Combine ingredients and simmer 10 minutes. Combine hamburgers and sauce and put into chafing dish.
  4. Serve with cocktail buns about the size of a half dollar.
