Tamale Balls Recipe

These little Mexican-style meatballs will add a little flavor to your appetizer spread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic purée
  • 3/4 cup tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. Combine beef and pork; add remaining ingredients. Mix well (it will be very dry). Roll into 1-inch balls.
  2. Sauce
    2 large cans diced tomatoes
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    2 teaspoons salt
  3. Mix together in saucepan and simmer about 10 minutes. Next add tamale balls. Simmer until done.
