Hot Cocoa For A Crowd Recipe

This is hot cocoa with vanilla extract and topped with sweetened whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Hershey's Cocoa (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cups milk
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Additional cocoa (optional)

Directions

  1. Stir together sugar, cocoa and salt in 4- to 6-quart saucepan.
  2. Heat milk in microwave until hot, but not boiling; gradually add to cocoa mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in vanilla extract. Serve immediately or keep warm over very low heat for up to 2 hours.
  3. At serving time, stir; pour into mugs. Garnish with whipped cream; sift cocoa over whipped cream, if desired.
  4. Makes 12 servings.
