Chile Relleno Casserole Recipe

A layered casserole with green chili, cheese and egg and flour mixture poured over the top

Ingredients

  • 2 cans whole green chile
  • 1/3 lb. cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 jar salsa
  • sliced monterey jack cheese

Directions

  1. layer chile and grated cheese in an 8 x 8 casserole dish, repeat
  2. Blend all ingredients except salsa and monterey jack cheese
  3. Pour mixture over chile and cheddar cheese
  4. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees
  5. Remove from oven and add jack cheese slices and pour salsa over all
  6. Bake 15 minutes more
