Grits And Green Onion Bake Recipe
An excellent grits recipe. Short on complexity, long on taste!

Ingredients
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. enriched white hominy quick grits
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/3 c. sliced green onions
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/8 tsp. liquid red pepper sauce
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 1-quart casserole.
- Bring water to a boil in heavy saucepan; stir in grits and salt. Return to a boil; reduce heat.
- Cook, uncovered, 2 to 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in remaining ingredients; continue cooking over low heat until cheese is melted.
- Pour into prepared casserole. Bake 30 minutes. Serves 4.
