Grilled Bratwurst Recipe

It's the simmering in beer that really makes these brats taste good.

Ingredients

  • 6 Bratwursts
  • 12 oz (1 Can) Beer
  • 1 Medium Onion, Chopped
  • 6 Peppercorns
  • 4 Cloves
  • 6 Hard Rolls

Directions

  1. Place bratwursts, beer, onion, peppercorns, and cloves in a 3-quart saucepan
  2. Simmer for 20 minutes then drain
  3. Grill bratwursts 2 to 5 inches from charcoal about 10 minutes, until browned
  4. Sprinkle with water to form a crisp skin
  5. Serve in hard rolls with Dusseldorf-style mustard.
