Spareribs and Sauerkraut Recipe

What a wonderful mixture, very German in flavor

Ingredients

  • 32 oz Sauerkraut; Canned (2 Cans)
  • 3 lb Spareribs; Country Style
  • 2 t Paprika
  • 6 Beef Bouillon Cubes
  • 1/2 t Caraway Seeds
  • 1/2 t Pepper
  • 10 Bacon Slices,Rolled In Flour

Directions

  1. Rinse and drain the sauerkraut
  2. Place sauerkraut in large 4-quart casserole and add 2 qts of hot water
  3. Add uncooked spareribs, paprika, bouillon cubes, caraway seeds, and pepper
  4. Cook covered, over low heat, 3 to 4 hours
  5. Fry floured bacon slices
  6. Break bacon into saurkraut
  7. Remove bones from the sauce before serving
  8. Serve with dark bread.
