Baked Pork and Beans Recipe

Delicious recipe for homemade pork and beans that has been in my family for several generations

Ingredients

  • 1 package Navy beans
  • 2 Tbls. sorghum
  • 3 Tbls. molasses
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 2-3 Tbls. Catsup
  • 4-5 Tbls. Brown Sugar
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 Tsp. Prepared Mustard
  • Diced Ham

Directions

  1. In the evening, rinse and sort beans. Put in saucepan, cover with water and soak overnight.
  2. The next day, boil beans for 1 hour. Pour beans and water in bean pot. If there is not enough water left to cover beans, add water to cover.
  3. Add rest of ingredients; stir to thoroughly mix ingredients.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 3-4 hours until beans are soft. Watch beans during last hour of cooking time as they become very thick. May need to add a little more water to continue baking.
