Best Mac & Cheese Recipe

Creamiest mac & cheese. All homemade and simple to prepare. One pot preperation saves cleanup. They will never want the box stuff again.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti, rigatoni or large elbows
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 12 ounces sour cream
  • 8-10 ounces shredded sharp cheddar

Directions

  1. boil pasta according to package directions, drain.
  2. in same pot, over medium heat, melt margarine
  3. add sour cream and stir until thouroughly heated and mixed with margarine.
  4. add cheese in three parts, stirring thouroughly to melt the cheese and mix with the sour cream - margarine
  5. cook and stir constantly until mixture is thouroughly melted and creamy.
  6. remove from heat and add drained macaroni.
  7. stir well to coat macaroni and serve.
  8. serve with hot dogs, hamburgs, smoked sausage, etc.
  9. recipe can be doubled for larger crowds.
