Golden Cheddar Corn Bread Recipe

Fresh cornbread is a family favorite

Ingredients

  • 1 c Corn Meal; White If Possible
  • 1 c Unbleached Flour
  • 1 T Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 t Salt
  • 10 oz Cheddar; Sharp, Shredded
  • 1 c Milk
  • 1/4 c Butter, Melted
  • 1 Large Egg, Beaten

Directions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients and then stir in the cheddar cheese
  2. Combine the milk, butter and egg then add them to the dry ingredients, mixing until just moistened
  3. Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan and bake at 425F for 35 minutes
  4. Serve hot.
