Grilled Bratwurst Recipe

Perfect bratwurt recipe for a crisp football tailgate party

Ingredients

  • 6 Bratwursts
  • 1 Onion; med., chopped
  • 4 Cloves
  • 12 oz (1 can) beer
  • 6 Peppercorns
  • 6 Hard rolls

Directions

  1. Place bratwursts, beer, onion, peppercorns, and cloves in a 3-quart saucepan
  2. Simmer for 20 minutes
  3. Drain
  4. Grill bratwursts 2 to 5 inches from charcoal about 10 minutes, until browned
  5. Sprinkle with water to form a crisp skin
  6. Serve in hard rolls with Dusseldorf-style mustard.
